My Thoughts...

Risk is essential.
There is no growth or inspiration in staying within what is safe and comfortable.

Really April, Are You Kidding Me?

It kind of seems like this month is playing a joke on me.  Like maybe the April fools joke is that it is actually still February.  Seriously how is it already April?  Anyway, here is a video from Castlewood Canyon.  I went yesterday in hopes of finishing Cave Direct.  No such luck.  It kicked the hell out of me.  Not even close.  On the bright side it was 80 degrees, and I spent 90 percent of the day with my shirt off, which shouldn't shock anyone.  I climbed one new problem that I started last time I was there, and repeated a few others.  I actually got decent video of the Font Lip Traverse, which was wrecked by the sun moving another time, so that was exciting  One not so much success was a pebble ripping out of the stone as I was standing on it.  I was looking at a new area with questionable rock quality, which is why I was standing on this pebble close to the ground.  Well the quality was clearly less than good and the end result was me scraping up my stomach.  No real harm done.  It really was a beautiful day and I was very ready for that.  When I got home I ponied up in my yard with my make-shift cooler (see attached picture) and my friend Alice, and spent the rest of the afternoon having beers in the sun.  Then dinner last night at KB and Jessie's place.  Also, I got a phone call for a job interview at a Charter School in the Springs which is exciting; And finished the the revisions for chapter three of my MR Paper.  One chapter closer to being done.  Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend!

Storm in the mountains.

Right near where I got my scrape.

 On the drive home.

My cooler.  Kind of embarrassing.

The said "scrape".
