My Thoughts...

Risk is essential.
There is no growth or inspiration in staying within what is safe and comfortable.

Newlin Creek

Last weekend I went down to Newlin Creek with my buddy Mark from work.  Since Amethyst is now done I have a little more freedom to explore, which is what I wanted to do.  I know there is a ton of great rock down there so I wanted to go find something I hadn't done.  I didn't make it too far up the canyon but found some good things to play around on.  The best was probably a lowball problem that had really cool and powerful moves on tiny crimpers and a terrible pinch.  Mark hadn't been out climbing a ton but enjoyed himself as well so it was a successful day.  As always I ran into the Mascarenas crew and filmed Meg on Geiman in a Blender.  She crushed as always and Stacy did awesome as well with a send of The Atari Arete.  Great to see them.  Hope everyone is having a great long weekend.  Now Lauren's good friend Sara from home is visiting and I am on the backside of getting sick. (hopefully) Pictures to follow shortly.  Cheers!

If you want to hear more about Megan go here.  Maybe when I grow up I'll climb as hard as her!  Also congrats to her on winning the Gun Show in Boulder a couple weeks ago.  She competed in the adult open category.
